Double Disc May Mix

There is so much music i've been enjoying lately and i could't fit it all on one CD, so... i made two (plus it's been a couple months since the last CD). I think it's a pretty great compilation. Mostly new, some not so new, but all great. even if there are just a couple of songs you haven't heard, you should check it out just for those few songs.

so here's CD 1:

Mega May Mix 1

Battles – Race In
Art Brut – Nag Nag Nag Nag
Clipse – Mr. Me Too
Bus Driver – Kill Your Employer (Recreational Paranoia is the Sport of Now)
Cloud Cult – Take Your Medicine
The Arcade Fire – (Antichrist Television Blues)
I’m From Barcelona – Collection of Stamps
Modest Mouse – The World at Large
Maria Taylor – A Good Start
Peter Bjorn & John – Chills
Maximo Park – By the Monument

Elliot Smith – Almost Over
Penguin Café Orchestra – From the Colonies
Feist – I Feel It All

and here's CD 2:

Mega May Mix 2
Ted Leo & the Pharmacists – The Sons of Cain
Dinosaur, Jr. – Almost Ready
LCD Soundsystem – North American Scum
Amy Winehouse – Rehab (Hot Chip Remix)
The Arcade Fire – Intervention
Bus Driver – Casting Agents and Cowgirls
The Arctic Monkeys – Brainstorm
Cloud Cult – Please Remain Calm

Hope you enjoy the cornucopia. (If you do, let me know.)

(Also, what do you think about the bigger font size? better? stupid? i got tired of squinting. is it too much?)

And They Said It Couldn't Be Done

everyone made fun of me and questioned my intelligence quotient, but i pressed on. i knew it could be done. i knew i could... grill my hot pocket. BOOYAH. we just got a grille here at work and one of my coworkers has been grilling on it everyday. today was josh's day! the hot pocket was excellent. at least 15x better than a microwaved hot pocket. the outside was crispy (not brittle, crispy like a thin crust pizza. even those hard-to-get corners were perfect!) and the inside was nice and warm (completely unfrozen). it took about 5-8 min longer to cook than normal, but it was worth it. had it actually been a hot pocket i liked (this was chicken parmesan; good but not great) this could've been the greatest hot pocket ever.

Any Given Sunday

this is Evelyn. i met her whilst i was out sunday.

Evelyn

Corey came to visit this weekend. we had a lot of fun. i've also lost my wallet, which is sort of fun. 2+2=? corey stole my wallet. i think. anyway, i went downtown sunday to take some pictures with the fisheye. it's tricky because you can't as easily visualize what the shot will look like like you can with a normal lens. you can stand in the same place and make the same shot look 50 different ways, thus leading to me walking around a lot with the camera to my face. i'm sure i looked local.

it was ella's birthday (today, but they celebrated it) sunday. the fisheye is so great for group shots. i love watching other people taking trying to get a shot and continually backing up till they get everything in, whereas i keep going closer and closer. kind of fun.

(it's funny how they lean in as if they were close to getting cut out.)

i've got more pictures to put up. more tomorrow i suppose.

my new monitor

i don't know if you can tell or not, but it's widescreen (1.6:1). i hope they let me keep it.

John Michael Higgins

i really need to find the other scene they cut. it is hilarious.

i thought For Your Consideration was actually pretty dang funny... up to a certain point. once they changed the title of the movie and Catherine O'Hara got plastic surgery, it just went downhill in my mind. it went from hopeful-funny-pathetic to sad-disturbing pathetic. it just went past what i could find funny.
