So aaahh, how do you make those lights look like that eh? You got some kinda laser camera I should know about? eh?

well, i can't really talk about the laser camera right now, however...

they have filters that'll do that to lights, but you can get any light to do that in a photo by making the aperture small (i.e. f/16, f/22) (as opposed to large and wide open, f/2.8, f/3.5, or f/5.6). it's a curious thing, but when you let the light in through a smaller hole, the flow of light onto the sensor is more controlled and more things come into focus (and light sources "starburst" like that.) so, at night, go into manual mode and make the aperture as small (high in number) as it'll go. you'll probably need a tripod though because this will slow the shutter speed down a lot, but all the lights will starburst.
